This month, we had the pleasure of visiting Two River Mushroom, a hidden gem nestled in Millstone, NJ. Jon Peters, host of Two River TV, toured the farm with founder KC, who shared the farm’s exciting developments and its unwavering commitment to sustainability.

Located in the scenic countryside, Two River Mushroom is no ordinary farm. It’s a place where organic mushrooms and vegetables grow harmoniously, thanks to KC’s innovative farming practices. The farm not only produces a variety of mushrooms but also boasts an impressive outdoor garden filled with organic fruits and vegetables that will soon be available for sale in the spring and summer. We look forward to returning to cook alongside the dedicated team at Two River Mushroom. tworivermushroom.com

Sustainability at Its Core

What sets Two River Mushroom apart is its dedication to sustainability. KC explained how they use the organic materials from mushroom production to enrich the soil for their vegetable garden. The result? Healthier, more flavorful produce, all while contributing to the environment through regenerative farming practices. It’s a win-win for both the Earth and the local community!

A Hub for Local Restaurants

As a major supplier of USDA organic mushrooms, Two River Mushroom provides fresh, high-quality mushrooms to over 80 restaurants in Monmouth County. With a capacity to produce over 1,000 pounds of mushrooms per week, the farm is a key player in local cuisine. They are also open to the public for orders, making it easy for people to access farm-fresh mushrooms right from the source.

Exciting New Product Launch

But that’s not all—Two River Mushroom is about to launch its new line of award-winning organic mushroom broth! Made with organic shiitake and lion’s mane mushrooms, this broth offers benefits for immunity, brain health, and overall wellness. Soon to be available in local stores, it’s a product that reflects the farm’s commitment to quality and holistic health.

A Taste of Farm-to-Table

Looking ahead, Two River Mushroom is expanding its offerings. In the coming spring and summer seasons, they’ll be hosting Farm-to-Table dinner events featuring renowned chefs. A community table for 50 people will allow guests to dine in the heart of the farm, where chefs will use fresh herbs, vegetables, and mushrooms harvested right on-site to create delicious, farm-to-fork meals. The outdoor kitchen, which will feature live music, cooking classes, and fire pits, is sure to become a beloved space for both food lovers and the local community.
