Inside Greene Street Joinery: Craftsmanship, Innovation, and Custom Woodworking

Welcome to another episode of Two River TV! We’re in Keansburg, New Jersey, visiting Greene Street Joinery, where master craftsman Jeff Krug takes us on an exclusive shop tour. If you’re passionate about woodworking, custom cabinetry, and high-end millwork, this is the place to be.

The Story Behind Greene Street Joinery

Jeff Krug founded Greene Street Joinery in September 2019 after years of working in a cabinet shop. What started in an 800-square-foot space in Port Monmouth has now grown into a 5,000-square-foot workshop filled with state-of-the-art woodworking machinery.

A Shop Equipped for Excellence

One of the highlights of the tour is the Striebig Compact Vertical Panel Saw—a $40,000 precision-cutting machine that Jeff won in a giveaway from Colonial Saw. This Swiss-engineered saw allows for ultra-accurate cuts and efficient material handling, making cabinet production smoother and more ergonomic.

Alongside it, Jeff showcases the Cehisa Automatic Edge Bander, a 14-foot-long machine from Spain that applies seamless edge banding to cabinet components. This is particularly useful for the European-style frameless cabinets that Greene Street specializes in—offering a sleek, space-efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional face-framed cabinets.

Precision and Innovation with Laser Technology

The shop also houses a CO2 laser machine, capable of engraving and cutting various materials. One standout project? Custom cherrywood salt cellars crafted for celebrity chefs Kenji López-Alt and Brad Leone. Not only has this project put Greene Street on the map, but it has also helped raise over $75,000 for No Kid Hungry—a cause close to their heart.

From Concept to Completion: Custom Woodworking at Its Finest

Jeff walks us through a custom mudroom island project that’s set to be installed in Rye, New York. From 3D design renderings to the final build, Greene Street Joinery ensures every detail is meticulously planned. The island features painted and natural wood finishes, dovetail-jointed drawers, and a pull-out hamper system—perfect for keeping a busy household organized.

Clients kick off their projects through the Greene Street Joinery website, filling out a new client questionnaire. From there, Jeff and his team develop custom designs tailored to the client’s space and vision. Whether it’s kitchen cabinets, built-ins, or commercial millwork, Greene Street handles everything from fabrication to installation.

Serving New Jersey and Beyond

While based in Keansburg, Greene Street Joinery serves clients in Rumson, Deal, Jersey City, Hoboken, and even as far as the Hamptons and Eastern Pennsylvania. Their commitment to quality and attention to detail has earned them a reputation as one of the top custom woodworking shops in the region.
